Texts are coming to MPS!
Bulletin Board Article, Feb. 18th:
Texts are coming to MPS!
SchoolMessenger will send families Opt In option for texts on Monday, March 3rd
You often receive messages from school in your email, but you may not check your account until the end of the day. Sometimes the school calls, but you aren’t always able to answer right away. Often a text can the best way to send information. It arrives right on the front of your smart phone, can easily be read during a meeting or while you are in line at the store, and it is quick and to the point. Starting at the beginning of the month, Millard will offer texts to our families through the SchoolMessenger system. Because mass texts are regulated to prevent spamming, you must opt in to be able to receive texts from MPS. You will only receive the opt in email one time. It will arrive on Monday, March 3rd. To receive text messages, please respond with the word YES. You will know you have been successful when you see the following reply:
You're now registered with the SchoolMessenger notification service.Reply STOP to cancel,HELP for help.Msg&data rates may apply.3msgs/mo. schoolmessenger.com/tm
Even though opt in text will be sent only once, you may opt in at any time you choose by texting YESto the number 68453. You may also stop the text messages at any time by replying STOP to the same number, 68453. Any time a new mobile number is added to your student’s records in Infinite Campus, that number will receive the one-time text to see if that person would like to opt in.
Text messages are simply another option for our families. We will always continue to use email and telephone calls as well. Please note, although the district does not charge you for this service, it does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you for sending or receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges. For more information about this new option, visit SchoolMessenger at www.SchoolMessenger.com/tm. We look forward to bringing a new path of communication to you in just a few short weeks!
